The App on the Child’s Device #

First, the most important point: the app on the child's device is only for display and a few actions performed directly on site. Child Control is configured and managed entirely by you as the parent through the Web Portal – nothing can be changed permanently on the device itself. You set all limits, filters and approvals in the Web Portal; the app merely shows your child how much time is left today, which limits apply and when a block screen appears. The "Action" button also provides functions such as an extension or redeeming a time code (TAN) – the more important ones only after you enter your parent password.

Android and Windows Compared #

On both platforms the functions are largely the same – only the presentation differs. On Android, Child Control is a full app with a start screen that clearly shows today’s time and the limits. On Windows, the software runs unobtrusively in the background; you reach the display through the icon in the taskbar. You will find the most important elements on both systems: a status display with the time used and the time remaining today, an overview of the limits in force, a block screen when time runs out, and an action menu with extension, time code redemption, reports and further functions.

By the way, this Child Control is also available as a parent app for your own device – giving you reports and approval requests right on your phone. Read more in the chapter Parent App.
