Why updates are important

We regularly update our software and apps, fixing existing bugs and adding new functionalities or features. Additionally, we adapt the software to new versions of Windows and Android.

If there is an important update and you are using an outdated version, you will be notified via a notice on the web portal.

Updates for Android

If you use the APK file of Child Control (downloaded from our homepage), updates will unfortunately not be installed automatically. However, when an update is available, you can easily install it over the existing version.

To install the update, open a browser app (e.g., Chrome or Firefox) directly on the child’s device. Navigate to the Salfeld homepage's download section and start the APK download. All settings on the child's device will be preserved. For information on current changes, refer to the Android version history. Feel free to also watch the update example video (German version).

Updates for Windows

The Windows version of the parental control has a built-in automatic update feature that keeps the software up to date automatically. Usually, no manual intervention is necessary.

However, you can always manually install the current version from our download page over your existing version. All settings will be preserved in this case. Information on current changes can be found in the Windows version history.
